The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The celebrated industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
