Recent details have emerged regarding the untimely passing of renowned director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Discovery

As detailed in an account referencing a family associate, a practitioner arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the home. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

When she went into the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant also disputed several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Additionally refuted widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
