President Trump Welcomes Relatives of Attacked National Guard Soldiers to the White House
Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.
He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.
Information on the Tragic Incident
Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in serious condition.
Gatherings across the state have occurred in their honor.
White House Call
The president stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the state National Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump informed the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”
Community Response
Attendees came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both they had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to aid policing efforts in DC.
Remembering the Soldier
“She was the type of pupil that teachers desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” the principal, the leader of her former high school, informed the press. “She was caring, caring and always eager to support those in need.”
Service arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.
Judicial Measures and Policy Revisions
Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.
The incident prompted the administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.
He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on television.
The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told the program that she also intended to speak to Wolfe’s family.
Memory of Sarah Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with honor, per the military.
“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had bravery,” he told the audience at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
