Experience the Revamped Classic Journey: This Complimentary Trial for DQ7 Reimagined Arrives Soon.
Fans anticipating the launch of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait the full month. A exciting playable preview will become available on the seventh of January, offering a substantial look into the game's beginning segments. Notably, all progress achieved within this demo will be able to be imported directly into the main game upon its subsequent launch.
Beyond Just a Straightforward Re-release: The Thorough Overhaul
This project constitutes a comprehensive reinterpretation of the iconic 2000 RPG, originally titled Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a significant departure from recent Dragon Quest remakes, such as the previously released HD-2D versions, this remake embraces a unique three-dimensional aesthetic. Environments are designed to evoke intricate model sets, with protagonists sporting a appealing toy-like look.
"Even with the 3DS port, the narrative was remained exceptionally long. So we came to a determination that we wanted to tighten the story, [and] craft an experience for modern audiences."
Significant Mechanical Improvements and Updates
Square Enix has added numerous changes to streamline the original experience. This encompasses:
- Quick Field Encounters: Taking a cue from modern RPGs, weaker monsters are now defeated directly on the overworld map eliminating the need for initiating a separate turn-based combat screen.
- Variable Battle Pace: Players have the option to speed up combat animations to quickly get past simpler encounters.
- New Vocation Mechanics: One completely new vocation was introduced for this remake. Additionally, characters now have the option to take on a second job, significantly expanding strategic options.
These refinements are aimed at tackle one of the original game's common points of feedback: its considerable length. The initial storyline was known to require more than 100 hours to complete. This reimagined version has been expressly structured to enhance pacing and cut down on perceived bloat.
