Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
Police have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
