Canada's Blue Jays Claim Fall Classic Meeting Against defending champion Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.
Toronto's Blue Jays reached their maiden World Series following the 1993 season by defeating the Mariners in the final game seven of the AL Championship Series.
Behind 3-1, the star outfielder hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning, guiding the sole Canadian team in Major League Baseball to a four games to three triumph in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the upcoming World Series.
"It's incredible for everyone here, the city, our country," said Springer, a key player of the Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "This is such an unbelievable moment."
The veteran has now connected for 23 post-season home runs, making him third all-time behind Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).
"There's probably not another person in the world that I'd choose in that situation besides him with his October magic," noted Schneider.
Seattle, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, remain the one club that has never reached in a championship series.
Manager Dan Wilson commented "without a doubt that it's going to sting" after his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but commended their work this season.
"This is a unique group. It's a shame that we ended up on the losing end of this game," he remarked.
Toronto's team claimed the championship on their two prior appearances in 1992 and 1993, and will welcome the Dodgers in the opener on this Friday.
