Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a message.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
